A BIT ABOUT ME

Wayne Allison
After coming through the ranks at Halifax Town, Wayne Allison has scored goals wherever he’s been.

He made his debut as a 19-year-old in the old Sherpa Vans Trophy, before bursting on to the scene with a goal on his league debut at home to Wolves.

Who’d have thought back then that the striker would go on to net over 200 League goals for nine different clubs, in a career spanning 22 years.

The goal in the 4-3 defeat by Wolves was Allison’s first goal of 30 scored while at the Shay, in just 101 games.

An impressive record which prompted Watford to spend £250,000 for his services in July 1989. Things didn’t quite go according to plan at Vicarage Road as the striker found chances hard to come by, making just seven appearances.
