A BIT ABOUT ME

Wayne Allison
A year later and he was on the move again and success was to follow as he joined Bristol City as part of a swap deal which took Mark Gavin the other way. Five years at Ashton Gate were five happy ones for the striker, who scored 59 goals in 226 appearances, one of those helping City to overcome Liverpool in the FA Cup third round in 1994. As well as scoring in the first game that was abandoned, due to floodlight failure, the striker scored in the rearranged match at Ashton Gate to earn City a replay at Anfield, which they went on to win.

The only negative was relegation to the old third division in May 1995, but Allison was on the move again as City cashed in on one of their biggest assets, bagging a £475,000 transfer fee along the way.

Swindon was the next destination, where yet more goals followed, 32 in 122 games to be precise, helping the Robins win promotion to Division 2 at the end of his first season. Despite his relatively short spell Allison did enough to earn his inclusion in the Swindon Town Football Club 100 Greats.
